Every winter, hundreds of bochurim come here from overseas to learn, far from home. Many come from families who simply can't afford what a New York winter demands. Tomchei Bochurim, a fund of Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, makes sure each of them has a proper warm coat before the cold sets in, along with the other winter essentials: a warm hat, a scarf and gloves. It's all done quietly and with dignity, so no bochur spends the winter cold, and every one of them knows someone is looking out for him.
